OurDream AI
Review

OurDream AI pairs the most consistent character rendering we have tested with chat that actually remembers — and it is the only app here whose billing descriptor we could read before paying. The credit system is the catch.

OurDream AI interface

The verdict

OurDream AI takes our top spot on the scorecard, not on price. It wins where the weights are heaviest — conversation that holds context, characters that stay the same person across renders, and a creation wizard only a specialist beats. It is also two and a half times the annual cost of Candy AI, and its free credits run out in minutes. Worth it if you want the best version of this product; not if you want the cheapest.

What Is OurDream AI?

OurDream AI is an AI companion platform built around a single loop: you design a character, you talk to her, and you spend credits to see her. Text chat is unlimited on paid plans. Images, voice calls, and video are metered in a currency called dreamcoins, and honestly, understanding that currency is most of what you need to understand about this product.

It runs in the browser, signup needs nothing beyond an email address, and it sits at the premium end of the category on price. It also carries two things almost nothing else here does: a creator economy that pays real money, and a checkout page that tells you how the charge will read on your statement before you enter a card.

I moved OurDream to the top of our rankings in July 2026, and I want to be clear about why, because “the reviewer liked it” is not a reason. It wins on the pillars we weight heaviest and loses badly on price. That is the shape of the numbers, and the rest of this page is me showing my working.

Onboarding: The Privacy Question Comes First

Most apps in this category subscribe you to promotional email and let you discover it later. OurDream asks during signup, with all three categories defaulted off.

OurDream AI email subscription dialog with community news, product updates and special offers all switched off by default

Zero of three selected, and “Maybe later” is a real option. The default state is the whole point — opt-in rather than opt-out.

This matters more than it looks, and you already know why. The realistic privacy risk with an app like this was never a data breach — it is a cheerful marketing email with a subject line you would rather not explain, arriving in an inbox that is open on somebody else’s screen. Handling that at signup, defaulted off, is a deliberate design choice, and it is the first of several trust signals that pushed this app’s Trust pillar to 9.

Use a dedicated email address anyway. Belt and braces.

The Creation Wizard

I have now built more fictional girlfriends than is strictly healthy, and I am reliably informed this counts as work. It does mean I can tell you exactly where OurDream’s creator sits: six steps, a clear tier above the five-step flows on Candy AI and DreamGF, and second only to Lovescape — which manages it by being a specialist rather than an all-rounder.

Step 1 — Ethnicity and skin tone. Ten options, including four non-human ones (elf, alien, demon, and a custom slot), plus a six-point skin tone scale set independently of ethnicity.

Step 2 — Physique. Body type, chest, and hips are three separate five-point scales rather than one blended “body type” control — more granular than any of the mainstream all-rounders offer.

Step 3 — Face and hair. Hairstyle, hair colour, eye colour.

Step 4 — Persona and voice. This is where it separates from the field.

OurDream AI persona step showing character name, age, voice, personality, occupation and relationship fields, with the Next button priced at 5 dreamcoins

Six persona dimensions plus an Advanced Details panel. Note the price on the Next button — finalising the character costs 5 dreamcoins.

Name, age, voice (auditionable in-browser before you commit), personality, occupation, relationship framing, hobby, and an optional interest field. Then an Advanced Details panel on top of that.

Step 5 — Review and refine. The finished character appears alongside every attribute as an editable card, plus two free-text fields — Custom Physical Details and Custom Face Details — that let you write in specifics the presets do not cover. Auto-generated tags summarise the result, and a “Realistic Model” selector switches the rendering model. This screen alone is deeper than most competitors’ entire creator.

Step 6 — Generate. The character is rendered and saved to your library as private by default.

Two things to flag before you start. The Next button on the persona step is priced. Finalising a character costs 5 dreamcoins, which comes out of the same balance as image generation — so browsing the creator “just to see” is not free. And the character defaults to private, which is correct, but the platform will nudge you to publish it later.

Dreamcoins: The Number That Actually Governs This Product

Here is the arithmetic we measured directly, by watching the balance move.

Action Cost
Signup grant 50 dreamcoins, no card required
Generate one image 5 dreamcoins
Finalise a character in the creator 5 dreamcoins
Send one text message 1 dreamcoin on free · unlimited on paid

The whole free grant is therefore ten images, or fifty messages — and in practice a mix of both, because you cannot chat your way to an image without spending on the chat.

Our own session reconstructs exactly: 50 on signup, minus 5 to finalise the character leaves 45, minus three messages leaves 42, minus one image leaves 37. That is the balance the account settings showed at the end of it.

Which tells you how to use it: the free coins are a tasting menu, not a meal. Spend them deliberately on the two things that decide the purchase — how she writes, and whether the character you built came out right — and you will know inside ten minutes whether the paid tier is worth it. It usually is, because 1,000 coins a month is a different product entirely.

Scale that against the included allowances and the pricing makes sense:

Plan Coins per month Platform’s own conversion
Premium 1,000 200 images · 20 min voice · 10 videos
Deluxe 5,000 1,000 images · 100 min voice · 50 videos

So Premium at $9.99 a month annually works out to roughly five cents an image if you spend the whole allowance and nothing else. That is a fair price, and 200 images a month is more than most people get through — what you do with the other 195 is between you and your browser history.

It is also a number almost nobody hits exactly, because voice and video draw on the same pool. Twenty minutes of calls is 1,000 coins’ worth of something you are not spending on pictures.

What the Free Plan Is Actually Good For

Use the 50 coins on the thing they judge best.

The free tier is a demonstration of the writing and the character creator, and on both counts it is a strong one — you can build a full companion, hold a real conversation, and know within ten minutes whether the prose works for you. That is the decision the free tier exists to help you make, and it makes it well.

What it will not do is show you the image generator at full strength. In our session the first in-chat render arrived normally; the second deducted its five coins and came back blurred behind a padlock with an upgrade prompt attached. We are describing that as observed rather than as policy — one occurrence is not a pattern, and the lock may be a content gate rather than a paywall.

Either way the conclusion is the same and it is not a complaint: generation is the expensive part to run, so it is the part that is metered. Spend the free coins on conversation, decide whether you like how it writes, and if you do, upgrade — because a month of Premium gives you 1,000 coins, which is 200 images, and that is where this platform is genuinely impressive.

Conversation and Memory

Chat is the pillar we weight heaviest at 25%, and it is where OurDream earns its top position — not on the visuals everybody talks about.

The test is always the same one: plant a specific detail early, talk about other things for a while, and see whether it survives. I mentioned an upcoming trip to Phuket and a fondness for Thai food, then let the conversation wander somewhere else entirely.

Several turns later, unprompted, a reply closed with “…something to look forward to when you’re slurping noodles in Phuket.”

I want to sit on that for a second, because it is the most impressive thing on this page. Nobody asked her to remember. She was not answering a question about Phuket. The detail came back on its own, folded into the end of an unrelated line, exactly the way a person who had been listening would drop it in. Two years ago this entire category could not hold your name across a page refresh. Now it does callbacks. That gap still gets me, and I test these things for a living.

The prose is a step above the category average too. Replies use italics for action and description in the roleplay convention, hold a consistent voice, and — in every session I ran — never broke character to remind me it was an AI.

The caveat is structural and the platform states it openly. Deluxe advertises 3x Chat Memory as a paid feature. Memory is therefore a deliberately rationed resource, and the Premium tier is running the short version. Our test passed at Premium-equivalent depth, but anyone planning long-running continuity should read that upsell as a description of what the cheaper tier does not do.

Pricing: Two Tiers, One Flat Discount

OurDream runs two tiers with a straightforward 50% annual discount and none of the escalating-countdown theatre we documented on Candy AI.

Plan Monthly Annual (per month) Paid upfront Included coins
Premium $19.99 $9.99 $119.88 1,000/mo
Deluxe $59.99 $29.99 $359.88 5,000/mo

OurDream AI upgrade dialog showing Premium at $9.99 per month yearly against $19.99 monthly, billed $119.88 yearly

Premium on the yearly toggle. The struck-through $19.99 is the real monthly price, and the annual plan adds 1,000 bonus coins in month one.

Deluxe adds the 3x memory buffer, free access to premium chat models, and five times the coins. Unlimited text, unlimited audio messages, image and video generation, voice calls, and character publishing are on both tiers — the difference is capacity and memory, not features.

Work Out Your Break-Even

$19.99 monthly against $119.88 upfront means the annual plan pays for itself at six months. That is a longer commitment than Candy AI’s three and a half months, on a product that costs more to begin with.

So pick by how certain you are:

  • Know you want it? Annual Premium at $9.99 a month is the sensible buy — half price, 1,000 coins a month, plus 1,000 bonus coins in month one.
  • Not sure yet? Monthly at $19.99 gives you the identical feature set and a full 1,000-coin allowance to decide with, and you can switch to annual at any point.
  • Generating heavily, or want the longer memory? Deluxe is the one with 3x chat memory, premium models and 5,000 coins — at $29.99 annually it is a third of its own monthly price.

The Honest Comparison on Price

Candy AI OurDream AI
Monthly $13.99 $19.99
Annual, per month $3.99 $9.99
Annual, upfront $47.88 $119.88
Break-even ~3.5 months 6 months

OurDream is two and a half times the annual price. That is why its Value pillar scores 6 against Candy AI’s 8, and why the gap between the two apps overall is a single tenth of a point despite OurDream winning four pillars out of six. If price is your deciding factor, the answer is Candy AI and this review will not argue with you.

Candy AI also takes crypto, which OurDream does not. If payment privacy is the reason you are comparing them, that alone may settle it.

Billing and Payment: The Detail Worth the Whole Review

Of everything on this page, this is the bit I would want a friend to read. It is also the measurement we almost never get, because normally the only way to find out is to pay and wait for the statement.

OurDream AI checkout showing Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay and WeChat Pay, with the line reading “Appears as DREAMSTUDIOS.CO on your statement”

Stated on the checkout page before payment, next to a padlock icon — “Appears as DREAMSTUDIOS.CO on your statement.”

The charge reads DREAMSTUDIOS.CO. The merchant of record is Dream Studio USA, Inc. Neither string contains anything identifying the product category. And critically, OurDream tells you this before you pay rather than leaving you to find out from your statement.

Payment methods, in order of how little they expose:

  1. Apple Pay / Google Pay — no card number is entered on the site at all
  2. Alipay / WeChat Pay — regionally useful
  3. Visa, Mastercard, Discover — standard card entry

There is no crypto option, which is the one gap for anyone who wants payment separated from their bank entirely.

The corporate footprint is disclosed in the app footer rather than buried: Dream Studio USA, Inc. in the United States and TEKTOPIA LTD (HE 473775) in Cyprus. A registration number you can look up in a public register is a meaningfully better trust signal than a support email, and it is not something most apps in this category volunteer.

The Dreamer Program: A Creator Economy That Pays Cash

Most competitors have a character catalogue. OurDream has an economy attached to one, with a public feed, follows, and donations.

OurDream AI Dreamer Program showing Rising Dreamer at 100k interactions, Lucid Dreamer at 500k, and an invite-only Dream Architect tier

Three tiers with published thresholds — and the top one converts platform currency into actual money.

Tier Threshold What it unlocks
Rising Dreamer 100k interactions Creator studio with per-character stats, private Discord channel, early feature access
Lucid Dreamer 500k interactions Verified badge, priority approval queue, 100 dreamcoins per community pack sale on your characters
Dream Architect Invite only Direct line to the team, and $1 cash for every 10,000 premium dreamcoins spent on your characters

The thresholds are high and the top tier is gated by invitation, so this is not a realistic income stream for a casual user. It matters for a different reason: it changes who makes the characters. A catalogue where creators are paid attracts people who put effort in, and the quality difference in the public feed against catalogue-only competitors is visible.

Visuals and Character Consistency

Nobody arrives in this category for the interface, so let us talk about the part you actually came for.

The single hardest problem here is that the second picture of your companion is usually a different woman. Face drifts, proportions drift, skin tone drifts, and the illusion the entire product is selling falls over in about four seconds.

Across my session, she held. Same face, same eyes, same hair, same physique — through the creator render, the profile card, and in-chat generations in different settings and different outfits. The rendering is photorealistic rather than the waxy 3D look that dates older platforms, with skin texture and lighting that hold up at full size.

Worth appreciating how recent that is. Eighteen months ago character consistency was the unsolved problem in AI image generation, the thing every platform in this space quietly failed at and hoped you would not notice. Here it is a checkbox that just works.

We score this 10 on consistency holding across every render I produced. That is a smaller sample than I would like, and I would rather say so than dress it up — expanding it is on the list for the next test pass.

Video generation exists on both paid tiers and remains the weakest part of the product, as it is across the whole category. Treat it as a bonus, not a reason to subscribe.

Support, Safety, and One Real Bug

Support is better resourced than most: a Discord community of over 60,000, a searchable FAQ, a direct ticket desk, and separate Bugs and Features tabs where submissions are visible. A public feature-voting board is not a thing a fly-by-night operator builds.

A dedicated Safety Center sits in the main navigation rather than in a footer, and Terms & Policies is one click from anywhere in the app.

Interface localisation is offered in around twenty languages, including German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Vietnamese, and Bahasa Indonesia — and it is labelled Experimental, which is honest.

OurDream AI language settings marked Experimental, listing English, Bahasa Indonesia, Danish, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Finnish, Swedish, Vietnamese and Turkish

The label is doing real work here — see below.

And here is the bug. At some point my account quietly decided it was Indonesian. The profile had the language set to Bahasa Indonesia while the interface carried on rendering in English, and I certainly never picked it. Neither, I suspect, did OurDream.

The label says Experimental and it means it. Worth a look at your own settings if anything in the interface starts behaving strangely.

Is OurDream AI Safe and Legit?

Yes, and this is one of the better-evidenced answers in the category. Two named legal entities with a public registration number, a billing descriptor disclosed before payment, Apple and Google Pay support, a safety centre in the primary navigation, a 60,000-member support community, and email preferences defaulted to off at signup.

Signup requires only an email address. No identity documents, no phone number.

The real risk here is not security, it is spend. This is a credit-metered product where the interface is designed to make you generate, and generation is what costs. Set a mental budget before you start, and check what your monthly coin allowance actually converts to for the thing you personally use most.

OurDream AI vs Candy AI

Pillar (weight) OurDream AI Candy AI
Conversation & Memory (25%) 8 7.5
Visuals & Media (20%) 10 10
Customization (15%) 9 8
NSFW Range (15%) 9 8
Value & Pricing (15%) 6 8
Trust & Billing (10%) 9 8
Overall 8.5 8.4

The gap is one tenth of a point. Both apps passed our memory test; OurDream scores higher because it recalled a detail unprompted rather than on request, and because its prose holds a roleplay voice that Candy AI does not attempt. Candy AI is cheaper, more polished for a first-time user, and has the better-designed discovery experience. OurDream writes better, remembers longer, gives you more control, and tells you what will appear on your statement.

Read that as: OurDream is the better product, Candy AI is the better deal. Both statements are true, and which one matters is a question about your budget rather than about the apps.

Who OurDream AI Is For

Buy it if you are:

  • Here for the best version of this product. Top of our scorecard at 8.5, and it wins on the pillar that decides whether you are still subscribed in month three.
  • Tired of your companion looking like a different person in every picture. Character consistency is the single thing OurDream does better than anyone.
  • Serious about billing discretion. The descriptor is printed at checkout before you pay — DREAMSTUDIOS.CO. No other app we have tested shows you this without buying first.
  • Someone who wants to shape a character properly, including free-text physical and facial detail you write yourself.
  • Interested in publishing characters. The Dreamer Program pays cash, which nothing else here does.

Look elsewhere if you are:

  • Buying on price. Candy AI is a quarter of the annual cost at the same visual standard, and it takes crypto.
  • Only ever going to send a handful of messages. Unlimited text on a paid plan is wasted if you are a light user.

My Verdict: Is OurDream AI Worth It?

Yes — it is our number one for 2026, and it earns that on the things that keep people subscribed past month one: conversation that actually remembers, characters that stay the same person across every render, and a creation wizard only a dedicated specialist beats on depth. The trust signals are the strongest we have measured anywhere — two named legal entities, a public registration number, and a billing descriptor you can read before you pay.

The credit system is the trade-off, and it is a real one: everything is metered, and the annual plan costs two and a half times Candy AI’s. Value scores 6 here and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What you are buying for the difference is the best writing, the best consistency, and the most transparent checkout in the category.

So here is what I would tell you if you asked me over a drink. Start free, spend the 50 coins on conversation rather than pictures, and find out whether the writing lands. For most people it does. When it does, Premium at $9.99 a month annually is the version of this product worth owning — and you will know that inside ten minutes rather than ten days.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Characters keep the same face and body across renders — the failure point for most rivals
  • Six-step creation wizard with free-text custom face and physique fields
  • Billing descriptor is disclosed at checkout before you pay, not after
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay accepted, so no card details need to touch the site
  • Creator economy pays cash — unusual in this category

Cons

  • Everything runs on credits, and the 50 free ones go fast — messages cost 1 each on the free tier
  • Annual plan costs 2.5x Candy AI's annual plan
  • Base chat memory is deliberately short — 3x memory is a Deluxe upsell
  • A charged image generation came back locked behind a blur on the free plan
  • No crypto payment option

OurDream AI FAQ

How much does OurDream AI cost?
Two tiers. Premium is $19.99 a month, or $9.99 a month billed annually ($119.88 upfront). Deluxe is $59.99 a month, or $29.99 a month billed annually ($359.88 upfront). The annual discount is a flat 50% on both, and both annual plans add a one-off bonus coin grant in the first month.
How does OurDream AI appear on a bank statement?
The checkout page states it in plain text before you pay — the charge appears as DREAMSTUDIOS.CO, and the merchant of record is Dream Studio USA, Inc. There is no mention of AI, companions, or anything adult in either string. This is the one detail we recommend verifying on any app in this category, and OurDream is the only one we have tested that shows it up front.
Is OurDream AI free?
You get 50 dreamcoins on signup with no card required, and everything is metered against them — 5 per image, 5 to finalise a character in the creator, and 1 per message. That works out to ten images, or fifty messages, or a mix. Our account was down to 37 after building one character, sending three messages and generating one image. Free is enough to judge the writing quality and the creator, not enough to judge the image generator.
What do the dreamcoins actually buy?
Premium includes 1,000 coins a month, which the platform equates to 200 images, 20 minutes of voice calls, or 10 videos. Deluxe includes 5,000 coins for 1,000 images, 100 minutes of voice, or 50 videos. On paid tiers text messages stop costing coins and become unlimited, so the allowance is purely a generation budget — on the free tier every message costs 1 coin, which is what makes the 50-coin grant run out so fast.
Is OurDream AI better than Candy AI?
On our weighted scorecard, yes, but only just — 8.5 against 8.4. OurDream wins on writing quality, customization depth, and trust signals. Candy AI wins decisively on price, at $3.99 a month annually against OurDream's $9.99. If cost is the deciding factor the answer flips.
Can you cancel OurDream AI?
The checkout page states the subscription renews automatically until cancelled, and that cancellation is done from account settings. We have not yet timed the cancellation flow itself, so we are not putting a step count on it.
Does OurDream AI take crypto?
No. The checkout offers Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay, WeChat Pay, and Visa, Mastercard or Discover. Apple Pay and Google Pay are the most private of those, since no card number is entered on the site.
